Here is an amusing half day Florence private “bike & bite” tour that will give you the chance to explore all of Florence’s top spots, with unforgettable panoramic views, and enjoy two tasty typical Florentine snacks! You will just have to follow our professional and expert guide, and enjoy the itinerary we have prepared for you.

The meeting point will be at a central bike shop, where every member of the group will collect the bike that fits his / her own size. After this crucial moment, we will be ready to hit the streets of Florence! To make this bike tour more enjoyable, we have inserted a couple of stops that feature typical snacks and refreshments. This way, your Florentine experience will be even richer!

Santa Croce District: The first part of the bike ride takes place around Piazza Santa Croce, home to the “calcio storico” games and pulsating heart of a neighbourhood rich with artisan workshops. In the church that gives the name to the square lie the mortal remains of several honoured Florentines.

Prison break: From Santa Croce, we will move a bit further, in order to reach Le Murate, an imposing building that used to be a prison, and today is one the most active literary and cultural centers of the city.

Oblate, Duomo and San Lorenzo: It will be now time to reach the historical center. After a short break for admiring the Oblate convent (now turned into a public library), we will get to the Duomo with its awe-inspiring dome and fascinating stories, that your guide will be able to share with you. From the religious center of Florence, we’ll move a little further to San Lorenzo, where the beautiful Medici Chapels sit right next to the colourful and noisy market stalls.

Lively Santo Spirito: Upon entering Piazza Santo Spirito, another quick stop is foreseen, for you to know more about the church representing one of the last works by Filippo Brunelleschi, the Renaissance genius, and featuring a wooden crucifix by Michelangelo. This piazza is today a very lively spot for the young generations!

Charming Oltrarno and San Frediano: A big “bite” of the bike ride takes place in Oltrarno (a district just off the south bank of river Arno), where you will make your way through tiny streets among old shops, artisan boutiques and typical restaurants. And if you’re well behaved, you will earn a little tasty treat!

Majestic Pitti Palace: We’re off for another stretch of our Florentine journey! Piazza Pitti, with its majestic Palace, is our next stop. Once home to the Dukes of Tuscany, the Palazzo Pitti today hosts 7 national museums, such as Boboli Gardens, and the Palatine Gallery, with masterpieces by artists like Raffaello, Caravaggio, Tiziano, Rubens and Van Dyck.

Romance and Roses: Back on your bike seats, it’s time to ride through the “lungarni”, between the river and the historical palaces overlooking the Arno. Within a few minutes we’ll get to the ancient Florentine walls, where our last stop will take place: the “Roses Garden”, a relaxing garden with a romantic view over Florence, embellished by Folon’s scupltures. Make sure your smartphone has a full battery, so that you can take as many pictures as you can of this romantic garden and its scenic surroundings.

After this last stop, our mind filled with beauty, we are ready to head back, nonetheless always discovering beautiful spots that will make your stay in Florence more meaningful.
